Asher Gould-Murtagh is a Montreal, QC based Musician, Producer, & Mix Engineer. ​​His past clients include artists such as Born Ruffians, Mother Tongues, BODYWASH, Le Ren, Shirley Hurt, ALICIA CLARA, SOPHIE OGILVIE, Kali Horse, Lee Paradise, Matthew “Doc” Dunn, and seen his work released on labels such as Sub Pop, You’ve Changed Records, Yep Roc, Telephone Explosion, Melodic Records, LIGHT ORGAN RECORDS, and many more. 

As a musician, Gould-Murtagh has been a touring member of acts such as ZONES, and Billy Moon, and has been a founding member of musical projects such as the art-punk outfit Marriage and the experimental-pop act Mr. Joy. He was a founding member & operator of the label Blob Records between 2016-2021, and owner / operator of The Black Lodge Recording studio in Toronto’s west end during the same period. He has released two EP’s of solo work, And Friends (Blob Records 2021) and Use Yr Imagination (Blob Records, 2019) as well as several singles. 2021 also saw the release of Dr. Joy (Idée Fixe Records), a collaborative LP between Mr. Joy and Matthew “Doc” Dunn, for which Gould-Murtagh served as Producer, Engineer, Mixer, as well as Multi-Instrumentalist & Artist

He is currently based out of Studio Toute Garnie, a fully equipped recording & mixing space in Montreal’s Mile End.
